How I Built This Portfolio with Claude Code

What it is

I built an editorial portfolio & blog from scratch using Claude Code. You're looking at it — peaceakinwale.com.

The problem it solves

Off-the-shelf portfolio templates look like everyone else's portfolio. Hashnode UI sucked. & getting a developer to design a custom portfolio website is expensive & slow. I really didn't wanna have a headache deciding which colors to pick & which images to send to them. I wanted something that felt like a magazine, loaded fast, & I could maintain on my own.

How I built it

I used Claude Code to build the entire thing. I wrote detailed prompts describing exactly what I wanted: the layout, the typography, the hero section, the blog search, the image lightbox, the table of contents.

Claude wrote the code. I reviewed it, tested it, interrupted it when it went off track, & redirected it. I wrote about the whole process here: How to build a portfolio website with Claude Code.

The total cost: about .49 a year for my domain. I spent money on Claude too, & the build time was roughly 24 hours across two days. It can be more if you need something more sleek (& it can be less if you've played with AI before).

What this means for you

If you've been putting off a proper web presence or want to build a mini AI tool that helps your prospect do something, I can build for you.

I can help you think through what you need, prompt your way to a working build, & get you something that looks custom/reliable, effective without the custom price tag.

Built with: Claude Code, Next.js, Hashnode CMS, Tailwind CSS, Vercel.
